let's sit back and rock it steady

November 08, 2006 10:40PM

Rocksteady holds such a special place in my heart,
and it seems like the deeper I dig into finding information
on artists, vocal groups, and producers, I find new gems that
remind me how much I love this short-lived era of Jamaican music.
These songs are a few of my current favorites. Maybe you'll listen
to them as much as I have been lately! I hope you enjoy!

-Miss Upsetter

1) Slim Smith - Send me Some
2) Carlton Alphonso - Where in this World
3) The Gaylads - I am Free
4) Beverly Simmons - Please don't leave me
5) Austin Faithful - Cry no more for me
6) The Hot Tops - Give it to him
7) Dennis Brown - If I had the world
8) Keith & Tex - Leaving on a train
9) Dawn Penn - To Sir with Love
10) The Progressions - Fair Deal

****podomatic decided to eat all my podcasts. here's the info from the original post****

So, here I go...my first step into the 21st century...kinda. Vinyl and computers can get along, as I've found out. So, directly from my tables, I bring you my first "podcast", or as I like to call it, "a recording of a small dj set". Whatever you wanna call it, I don't care. It's still sweet reggae music.

1) Hazel & The Jolly Boys - Deep Down
2) Millicent Patsy Todd - No One
3) Derrick Harriott - Do I worry?
4) Pat Kelly - I'm coming home
5) Lloyd & Devon - Baby Reggae
6) Bleechers - You gonna feel it
7) The Sensations - Silhouettes
8) The Upsetters - The Vampire (sorry for the hiss!)
9) Ernest Ranglin - Oh My
10) Andy & Joey - You're wondering now
